On 12 July, the planned “day of action”, participating firms and organisations are expected to change their websites to inform users about FCC’s plans to deregulate the telecom and cable industries, most notably by loosening the existing net neutrality rules, the Washington Post reported [1].
Participants include Mozilla, Reddit, Amazon and Kickstarter, as well as digital rights groups such as EFF and Access Now, with the full list available on the campaign’s website [2]. No news organisations are listed as participants, at least so far, although Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos is also the owner of the Washington Post.
