He said Google and Facebook have already taken important steps in addressing the issue, which should be encouraged.

Google, Facebook and Twitter have pledged to delete criminal content from their platforms within 24 hours, but have not dealt with user-submitted complaints effectively enough, according to a spokesperson from the ministry of justice and consumer protection, speaking to Digiday.
