National data protection agencies prepare for GDPR

The Spanish data protection agency published new guidelines that aim to assist data controllers and data processors to comply with the approaching General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). 

In Germany, a revised version of the Federal Data Protection Act, which provides details about the scope and implementation of GDPR provisions, was released by the Ministry of the Interior

Meanwhile, the Dutch data protection authority announced its focus areas for 2017, including ensuring businesses’ and organisations’ compliance with the GDPR. The Dutch DPA will also work on guarateeing that businesses are more transparent about the collection and use of their customers’ personal data.

In Britain, the digital minister Matt Hancock confirmed that the UK would harmonise domestic law with the GDPR.
