Apparently the attack KrebsOnSecurity.com experienced last week was 620 gigabit-per-second of strength. Now, a French Web host OVH has reported an attack that peaked at 1.1 terabits per second.
Security experts link the strengthening attacks to the popularity of “internet of things” devices, which can be harnessed as part of the botnets that are used to perform distributed denial-of-service attacks. For instance 15,000 CCTV cameras were apparently used in the attack against OVH.
