The European Commission is due to present draft net neutrality guidelines on 6 June, followed by a consultation period of 20 working days.
Earlier this month, over 70 NGOs called on the Body of European Regulators of Electronic Communicaion (BEREC), the regulating agency of the European telecoms market, to safeguard the open internet in the upcoming discussions. BEREC and EU telecom regulators will need to clarify the final guidelines, due to be published by 30 August.
EU’s net neutrality regulations, which will be interpreted and implemented at a national level by EU member states, came into effect earlier this month.
