Let's talk about the Future of Journalism

This June, I invite you to join us in Washington – home of the Washington Post, Watergate and the White House. Fittingly, we will open our summit with a reception at the Newseum, a magnificent interactive showcase of five decades of newsgathering.

Over three days we will celebrate journalism at its best and most innovative. See pioneering projects that are reshaping newsrooms: from immersive 3-D journalism, to automated content, sensor and drone journalism and wearables, we have the new frontier covered.

We'll hear new strategies for news, and debate just who is driving the editorial agenda: journalists, audiences, or the monolithic tech companies? There will be ideas on how to do more in the newsroom with even fewer resources.

There will also be opportunities to salute our fallen colleagues – all those journalists who have lost their lives doing their jobs. Press Freedom around the world is under pressure as new forms of censorship and intimidation take hold.

It is critical that editors get together to talk about our common challenges. So, I hope you will join the conversation.
