Wifag focuses on packaging, automation and digital printing

The Wifag-Polytype group combines many industry areas, technologies and competences, which all group companies can benefit from.

A new Digital Competence Center (DCC) was created at the beginning of 2013, and almost all components for digital printing result from its development work. It was announced that the first customer of the DigiCube single-pass inkjet press has been found in the packaging printing sector. The core business today for Wifag is packaging.

Because the opportunities to sell new newspaper presses today are very limited, Wifag’s focus in the newspaper sector is on automation (closed-loop systems) and retrofit projects. Since its launch last year, 10 Control Consoles (exhibited at the company's stand, 2.2.510) have been sold.

Regarding the S-Line press, Karlsson said the concept has been well accepted, but there have been no orders because "the price level was not attractive. But we do not sell machines below cost,” Karlsson pointed out. "The time for the S-Line will come.”
